Emily Wilding Davison

 

Barbara Gorna bought Emily Wilding Davison's Derby sash from Sotheby's in 1997. She researched and campaigned for 16 years to clear Emily's name as a lunatic and suicide who dashed under the King's horse at the Derby in 1913 to a brave fighter for Women's Rights. Her view was supported by Clare Balding in the Channel Four 'Secrets of a Suffragette'.
